Seven Days Of Eating: Because You Are Worth It
As a nod to this blog post, one way to stimulate the accelerator for the desire to eat is to have a gentle structure (some might call it a meal plan) in place.
Please note that my ideas are meant as support and inspiration. I have absolutely no idea what kind of food you like or love. One of the most common comments I get in session is “Just tell me what to eat, Liz!” To which I like to respond, “What makes you think I would know your desires and preferences? You are the expert of you.” I will certainly support you to think of ideas based on your past experiences with food, your culture, your cooking skill, your budget. I care about enhancing your knowledge of nutrition and how food groups and the mix nutrients impact your satisfaction and health. But YOU get the final say. YOU are worth it.
You are a wonderfully, complex person. The food you desire and reach for is unique to you. You won’t make a wrong choice. Every decision has meaning. Enter into your experiences of food preparation and eating with curiosity and gratitude.
Crockpot Spaghetti Casserole + garlic bread + bagged salad (my family is loving Caesar salad these days).
Pork Roast: make this recipe and choose from these 10 ways to use it.
Treat yourself to an excellent frozen pizza.
Baked Cod (or your favorite fish) + rice + broccoli
Grilled Cheese Dog - who would’ve thought that a grilled cheese sandwich could get any better? I love to add a creamy coleslaw from my grocery store’s deli counter and some fresh fruit to complete this meal.
Chickpea salad. I think this dish can hold its own as the main dish (or only dish) of the meal. The whole gang is there: protein, carbohydrate, fat, and fiber. It would also make a nice side dish to a burger or your favorite poultry or fish dish.
I agree with the author of this recipe. This is the most creamy, luscious, medium-spicy, weeknight-manageable, must-have-it-NOW chicken tikka masala.
What gets you fed when the very last thing you want to do is step foot in the kitchen? Reply to this email, I’d love to hear your ideas.
